Here's exactly what you can expect when we install a new roof on your home - from the first visit to the final clean-up.
Step 1: Site Visit & Survey
Every roofing installation starts with a thorough inspection of your existing roof. During this visit, we:
- Take accurate measurements
- Assess structural condition
- Identify any issues that may need addressing
- Answer your questions and discuss material options
Following this, we provide a detailed written quotation and, if required, a full roof survey with video and photographic evidence - especially useful for homebuyers or surveyor-reported issues. All findings are captured and presented through our purpose-built Roofing Pro App™ for clear, professional roof inspection reporting.
Step 2: Quotation & Booking
Once you accept the quotation, we:
- Confirm a start date
- Schedule scaffolding (if needed)
- Advise you on any simple preparations (e.g. access for vehicles, moving garden furniture)
- Keep you updated throughout
There's no upfront payment unless the project exceeds our threshold limit, in which case the scaffolding will then be erected in advance of the deposit required.
Step 3: Site Setup & Safety
Before any work begins, we:
- Ensure scaffolding is securely erected and tagged in accordance with H&S regulations
- Complete pre-work safety forms and scaffold handover certificates
- Carry out a detailed Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS)
- Conduct weekly and pre-start Health & Safety inspections, all signed off and logged
- Ensure all RAMS and site safety protocols are overseen by our IOSH-qualified Health & Safety Manager
- Brief our team on scope, access routes, and safe working procedures
- Notify you of any access needs (e.g. side paths, loft access)
Our team follows strict site safety procedures in full compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and all relevant construction H&S legislation.

Step 4: Strip & Preparation
The existing roof covering is carefully removed. We:
- Protect your property (e.g. sheeting below, dust barriers)
- Remove old tiles, felt, battens or membranes
- Inspect and prepare the roof deck
- Replace or repair timber if needed
All waste is placed into skips or removed daily - we leave your site safe and as tidy as possible at all times.
Step 5: Installation of New Roof System
We now begin installing your new roof to the highest standards using only BS-compliant materials, fitted in line with manufacturer specifications. Depending on the job, this could include:
- Breathable underlay or vapour control layers
- New tile battens and fixings
- Re-roofing with tiles, slates or rubber membrane
- Re-pointing of ridges and verges
- New lead work, flashings, or EPDM detailing
- Installation of fascia, soffits, and guttering if included

Step 6: Final Checks & Clean-up
Before we consider the job finished, we:
- Check all roof finishes and fixings
- Water test guttering and outlets
- Clear up site waste and sweep down paths
- Complete a final inspection and sign-off with you
